Yesterday, a complete stranger walked up to me and asked, “Has anyone told you that you look just like Molly Ringwald?” Umm, no, only about a million times! I have decided to be creative with my answers from now on. Here is a list of my options:

1. What? Is it my flashy smile, shiny red locks, angel-kissed porcelain skin, dreamy hazel eyes? (Either they’ll just turn around and walk away, or die laughing!)
2. I was her body double in “Sweet Sixteen”. (You know, when I was 8?)
3. I have been genetically engineered by my parents to look like an 80’s teen flick icon.
4. Do you really think so? What movie? (I’ll go on and on until their head explodes.)
5. I’m her evil twin.
6. Who’s that?
7. Never, you’re the first! (This works in many situations, doesn’t it?)
8. This is only a dream……
9. I have a vacation home here.
10. Yeah, and my mom looks just like Goldie Hawn!

I guess there are worse people I could look like! If you have any others, please comment.

I always thought Molly Ringwald was a cutey.

I know how you feel though. I am always having people tell me I look like somebody else.

1. Most frequesntly, Sam Elliott. I have heard this one more than any other.

2. Glen Frey of the Eagles.

Those are the two most common. Which one I think depends on whether my hair is cut short and my moustache trimmed short or I have longer hair and a fu manchu. These two guys look nothing like each other, and yet somehow I seem to resemble them both. How does that work?

I like your responses. Perhaps you should add: Shhhhhh, I'm trying to hide from the paparatzi !

I have recently cut my hair too, people only say this when my hair is short, I think it's because it's curly. The thing I hate is when people tell you that you look like someone that's the total opposite of reality! Like one time, I was told I look like Marissa Tome (spelling?).

People used to tell me that I looked like Renee Zeilweiger (sp?), but it must have been in her Bridget Jones days and not in her Chicago days!

My hair was also shorter and blonder then!

Now I am repeatedly told that I look just like someone else they know--yup, I've got those standard features, just one of the crowd, nothing separating me from anyone else--ok, so they probably didn't mean it as the insult that I take it to be!

I like the Paparatzi line!

That could get annoying. Trying to be your own person then sombody comes up and says you're just like someone else, nah that can't be fun. My amiga looks like Brittany Murphy though and she loves it when people point it out, Brittany's cute!!
