A Day in the Life of Me......
Or the new boss in disguise?

Attention All:

This email sent from the head of our company was just sent out to all of us here at work:

"Pursuant to one of Kayles' outstanding suggestions, I have authorized her to direct the ongoing office clean-up activities. This does not mean Kayles will be cleaning the office, but instead means that she will identify what needs to be done and then direct appropriate individuals to participate in the ongoing effort. Thought I would let you know."

Questions I have:

Is he trying to tell me something about my desk?
Does this mean I get to boss people around?
Does this mean I get to finally prove what I'm worth?
Should I start with the junk in his office first?
'ongoing effort' Will I be the office "Mom" forever?

Oh there are so many more questions, but I have to go "direct appropriate individuals"!

No comments? Okay, I'll start. I have begun the clean-up activities and indeed, the boss is going to be the hardest to persuade. How many coffee mugs does one need on his desk?

Heheh that is rule #1 of office politics: When you suggest something, you get to do it.

Unfortunately it was a suggestion that I suggested it! Oh well, it'll give me a chance to show them I can make the best of anything!
